In 2011, Flamenco con Magdalena, then based in New York City, took her students to Sevilla, Jerez, and Morón to attend Feria and take class with some of Andalusia’s most celebrated flamenco artists. Pictured here is our beloved teacher, Angelita Vargas (DEP). Other esteemed teachers included Juana Amaya, Pilar La Faraona, and Concha Vargas.
It was during this trip, at Peña Torres Macarena in Sevilla, that Magdalena first connected with
"La Lupi" of Malaga. That meeting led to Magdalena producing Lupi’s inaugural U.S.
workshop tour in
2012, introducing
her to American flamenco communities and creating the
first opportunity for dancers across the United States to study with her.

Over the years, Magdalena has continued to serve as a bridge between Spain and the U.S. flamenco
community, producing the first U.S. workshop appearances for acclaimed artists including singer "El Pola" and dancer Miguel Vargas, helping connect American students and audiences with some of Spain’s
most respected
artists.
